Punch Needle Care

  • If your rug, purse or coaster gets fuzzy or starts to pill, use an electric lint remover or depiller, on the loop side of your product to clean it up and give it a fresh look.  You can also take duck bill scissors to trim any pieces that didn't get picked up by the depiller.
  • If you have a stain that won't come out with plain water, you may use a little bit of Eucalan (no-rinse soap) with warm water to blot it out.
  • If your rug or purse starts to curl or lose its shape (purses can stretch from what you put inside), lay it on a heat safe surface with the loop side up, cover it with a damp dish cloth and set your iron to the wool/dry setting. Then press down and hold for about 15 seconds in each section until you have pressed the entire piece.  If you have loops on both sides, then repeat on the other side.
  • Most products I make can be washed in a washing machine on delicate.  But, you will extend the life of your product much longer if washing by hand.  Wool does not need to be washed nearly as often as polyester, nylon, or cotton products.  Usually, an airing out is all that's needed.
